Early Childhood Education Program

Mission:

The mission of our pre-kindergarten program is to advocate high –quality early learning opportunities for all 4 year olds that promotes, stimulate s and accelerates growth and development.  Our aim is to implement a Tier 1 curriculum with a foundation that is challenging and deeply rooted in building a strong foundation which supports  innovative experiences  that nurtures, fosters, our pre-kindergarten students intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically to help them reach their maximum potentials to be kindergarten ready. The mission also is to focus on providing positive support to families, the community and teachers through professional development.

Objectives:

To increase the likelihood of young children reaching their appropriate academic level to be kindergarten ready to maximize their future well –being.

To create learning opportunities which allows young children to practice, elaborate, and extend emergent literacy abilities.

To increase and maintain enrollment in pre-kindergarten and help to even the playing field to ensure all young children have the chance to build the skills they need to succeed in school and in life.

Good School Attendance is Everyone’s Business

The Louisiana Legislative Statutes charge the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance with the responsibility of assuring every school age child is in regular attendance and with the responsibilities of enforcing the Compulsory School Attendance Law when necessary.

Objectives:

Maintain a continuous census of students in the district, work to solve difficult adjusting and attendance problems involving individual students and/or groups of students

Identify and address factors contributing to chronic absenteeism and habitual truancy, including suspension and expulsion.

Ensure pupils with attendance problems are identified as early as possible to provide applicable support services and interventions.

Monitor the school attendance and adjustment of students in the district.
