Message from the Superintendent

Greetings Madison Parish School District Community,

I have enjoyed the distinct privilege of serving as superintendent of my hometown for the past 3 1/2 years. Nothing was more rewarding than providing opportunities for our students to gain exposure from colleges and the workforce to better prepare them for a more rewarding life experience. As a former resident of Madison Parish, there were at least two goals I had hope to accomplish. One, was have this district in a much better place both financially and academically than when I first arrived. Two, was to lift the salary freeze for all employees. As of today, both goals have been accomplished and I am so grateful for that.

As superintendent, I can assure you that I will continue to work for even more opportunities for our students and I will continue to hold high expectations for our staff to provide our students with the dignity in a caring and nurturing environment.

In January 2020, a new leader will take the helm as superintendent and I hope the practices we currently have in place will continue to guide Madison Parish School District in an upward trajectory. Our students are amazing, so please continue to hold everyone accountable for the sake of their future and our parish.

Lastly, to all my students, never allow anyone to place restraints on you by telling you that you are not good enough or because of your gender. Set your goals high and your dreams even higher and you will accomplish everything you have set out to do. I did it and so can you.

Best wishes,

Benita B. Young, Superintendent
Madison Parish School District

Highly Effective Teacher 2018-2019

I am so proud of the work you and your students were able to accomplish on the state standardized tests last year. Your high expectations of all your students and the hard work you have displayed are to be commended by your colleagues and the MPSD school community. It is a pleasure to have you share your talents and knowledge of mathematics with our students. It is because of you our students were successful this past year. So, today we salute you for being rated amongst Louisiana's highly effective teachers.

Thank you students for an excellent job in preparing a scrumptious meal and your impeccable service. We hope to have more students like you next year.
