If a child is found eligible for special education services, the appropriateness of placement is decided with the IEP team from a continuum of services, which could include:
Gifted and Talented
Regular Class Placement
Regular Class with Consultation
Resource Center Programs
Referrals for initial identification are received, in each school, from the School Building Level Committee, The Response to Intervention Team, the teacher, the parent, or any other professional who suspects a child may have a disability. Referrals of children (3-21), not presently enrolled in a school, can be made by contacting the Special Education Department.
